### Main duties of the job

St George’s Hospital is the primary teaching hospital in south-west London and provides all of the tertiary specialities.  The St George’s Adult Critical Care Directorate has 60 critical care beds across three critical care unts: General Intensive Care (GICU), Neuro Intensive Care (NICU) and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care (CTICU).  This is an extremely exciting time for the Directorate with the construction of a new 20 bed adult ICU currently underway. Successful candidates will work across one or more of these units during their period of employment at St George’s and where possible we will accommodate specific unit preferences.

We can accommodate experienced trainees/clinical fellows looking to broaden their experience (including subspecialty experience in cardiothoracic or neuro intensive care) as well as novice trainees/clinical fellows with no prior ICM experience.  Duties and responsibilities will be commensurate with the individual candidate’s experience and are overseen by consultant intensivists at all times.  The experience gained will be beneficial to trainees wishing to pursue a wide variety of career aims.

The applicant should be post foundation training or equivalent.  Prior experience of the UK healthcare system is desirable, and GMC registration is essential (unless applying for sponsorship).

Successful candidates for this post will be scored at interview and offered in turn, depending on availability their first choice of rotation.
