This 12 month opportunity involves taking a lead role in recruitment and delivery of clinical research throughout the trust. You will work alongside a team of Research Nurses and Governance colleagues. You will also work under the supervision of multiple Principal Investigators (usually consultant level) and the Director of Research and Development, Prof Anil Hormis ### Main duties of the job There is an expectation that the successful applicant will have prior NHS experience and have the ability to work across multiple medical and surgical specialities, both adult and paediatric. However, a large proportion of current research focusses on Anaesthesia, Critical Care Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Oncology. This post is well suited to those post-foundation or core training, wishing to gain research experience prior to applying to speciality training. The role provides opportunities to gain experience in clinical research, including the opportunity to complete the NIHR Associate PI Scheme. Previous fellows have achieved publications across various specialities and had the opportunity to attend and present at medical conferences. Further opportunities include both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience within the hospitals education department. The department is led by the Director of Research and the Lead Research Nurse/R&D Manager, with a team of Research Nurses, Research Governance, Pharmacy and Laboratory colleagues. Our R&D team work with many external partners such as The University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University and other commercial companies and grant awarding bodies.
