Are you an experienced investigator with a strong understanding of employee relations and employment law?

Do you have the skills to plan and carry out fair, thorough and timely workplace investigations, while handling sensitive issues with professionalism, neutrality and compassion?

We are looking for Investigation Officers to join our bank and provide flexible support on employee relations cases as required. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who can offer dependable availability and flexibility to support a busy and time-sensitive casework service.

You will need a strong investigations background, excellent report writing and interviewing skills, and up-to-date knowledge of employment law and good employee relations practice. The role will be carried out largely remotely, although there will be occasions where travel to Trust sites is required for investigation work and employee relations meetings.

### Main duties of the job

To lead on investigating employee relations issues as assigned by the requesting Manager/Senior People and OD Business Partner/People and Relationship Team including highly complex and highly sensitive investigations of varying nature, in conjunction with the Trust’s Policies and Procedures (e.g., Disciplinary, Respect and Resolution, Raising Concerns).

To plan and co-ordinate (potentially several simultaneous) investigations and conduct interviews ensuring that timescales are met, in accordance with the relevant policies and availability of witnesses, this includes co-ordinating several diaries, venues, documents etc.

To interview accused/complainants/witnesses in a fair, unbiased, compassionate, and non-judgmental manner.

To recognise that interviewees may be guarded and uncooperative, emotional, angry, or upset and skilfully manage any hostile, emotive atmosphere.

To prepare detailed formal Investigation Reports following each investigation in line with Trust policies.

To attend and present information at internal formal hearings, appeals and if required, externally at Employment Tribunal Hearings, which may be complex and contentious.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

**Essential**

- IT Proficient
- Ability to conduct interviews whilst taking digital or written notes
- Ability to manage difficult contentious upsetting conversations professionally
- Comapssionate leadership
- Prioritisation of tasks in organised way
- Ability to gather information and facts assess and present information in non judgemental impartial way

### Experience

**Essential**

- Conducting disciplinary investigations
- Writing reports and presenting at Hearings
- Working at senior level managerial/HR environment
- Ability to coach and mentor

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Masters in relevant subject e.g law/HR/ER
- Expert in ER policies and procedures

**Desirable**

- CIPD or working towards
