We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our dedicated Hotel Services team in Frimley. About the Role As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of our housekeeping assistants. You will ensure all areas of the hospital are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, in line with NHS infection prevention and control protocols.

### Main duties of the job

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our hardworking and friendly team. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that our hospital maintains a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all patients, staff and visitors. You will provide daily support and guidance to housekeeping staff, working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams.

Key responsibilities include:

Allocating housekeeping staff across wards and departments to ensure efficient service delivery

Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors

Delivering and managing accredited training programmes, including Train the Trainer and Assessor responsibilities

Supporting staff development through induction, ongoing training, appraisals, and refresher courses

Providing feedback through verbal and written reports following cleanliness and quality audits

Working closely with clinical teams, department managers, and the wider housekeeping team as part of quality assurance

Supporting the Housekeeping Manager and Senior Supervisor with service delivery and resource management

Contributing to staff rotas and ensuring cost-effective use of resources

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a Senior Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, you will lead and support housekeeping services to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and compliance are consistently achieved.

- Ensuring wards, departments, offices, and public areas meet the requirements of the NHS National Cleaning Standards 2021.
- Leading, supervising, and supporting housekeeping staff, including work allocation, performance monitoring, and day-to-day operational management.
- Undertaking regular cleaning quality and efficacy audits, providing constructive feedback and implementing improvements where required.
- Building effective working relationships with Ward Managers, departmental leaders, and fellow supervisors to support service delivery.
- Supporting recruitment activities, including participation in interview panels and the induction of new staff.
- Maintaining accurate workforce records, including attendance, annual leave, sickness absence, and return-to-work documentation.
- Providing guidance and support to team members on attendance, wellbeing, and workplace concerns.
- Coordinating training and development programmes, ensuring staff complete mandatory training, competency assessments, appraisals, and refresher sessions.
- Managing staffing resources effectively, arranging appropriate cover and utilising Bank staff when necessary to maintain service standards.
- Participating in a rotational shift pattern, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the service.
- Carrying out administrative duties, including data management, telephone and bleep handling, and the use of Trust IT systems.
- Managing stock levels and ordering cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Supporting periodic deep cleaning programmes, specialist cleaning activities, and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Participating in PLACE assessments and accurately recording findings using digital devices.
- Coordinating responses to emergency cleaning situations, including spillages, flooding incidents, and biological hazards, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of housekeeping equipment, including mop and microfibre systems.
- Supporting the supervision of catering services during evening shifts, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and HACCP requirements.
- Promoting food safety through the implementation and monitoring of Level 2 Allergen Training for catering staff involved in food service delivery.

About You You will be a confident communicator with strong leadership and organisational skills. You will have experience supervising a team and a passion for delivering a high-quality service. Ideally, you will hold relevant training qualifications and have experience delivering practical and accredited training.

You should also have:

- Previous supervisory experience in a similar environment
- A strong understanding of infection control standards and NHS cleaning protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated housekeeper to work in our Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. We are interested in hearing from individuals who are willing to work hard within a strong, friendly team. They will be required to provide a key service within the hospital for both staff and patients.

The post holders will be responsible for ensuring that the environment are of a high standards and needs of the patients and visitors. The main focus of the post holder is to facilitate the maintenance of a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients. They will work with the ward-based team to ensure patient safety privacy and dignity and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.

This is a challenging but rewarding job and would be ideally suited to motivated team players. Housekeeping experience within healthcare and knowledge of COSHH, BICs, Colour coding and infection control is desirable though this is not essential, as full training will be given.

The recruitment process will include a Maths and English assessment, in order to progress to interview you will need to pass this test.

The housekeeping team at Heatherwood hospital are part of the hotel services department and the Estates and Facilities directorate. The team is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all the hospital areas. The housekeepers are valued support members helping to ensure that the wards are pleasant for the all patients and staff.
