### Job summary

The Housekeeping Assistant will play an important role within Jewish Cares Hospitality team at the Betty and Asher Loftus Centre in Friern Barnet, helping to maintain clean, safe and welcoming environments for residents, members, visitors and colleagues. Working 35 hours per week, five days out of seven, including every other weekend, the postholder will carry out housekeeping duties to a consistently high standard across the campus and its care homes. The role includes supporting laundry services, maintaining infection control standards, assisting with events and festivals, monitoring cleaning products and equipment, disposing of waste safely and reporting hazards or maintenance issues. The postholder will need to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with sensitivity and understanding when supporting vulnerable people.

### Main duties of the job

We are looking for a reliable, conscientious and caring Housekeeping Assistant to join our Hospitality team at the Betty and Asher Loftus Centre in Friern Barnet. You will help create clean, comfortable and welcoming surroundings for residents and visitors, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, infection control and safety. Your role will include housekeeping and laundry duties, supporting events and festivals, monitoring supplies and equipment, and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues. You will take pride in your work, have a good eye for detail and be able to work confidently both independently and as part of a team. Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is required, while COSHH and infection control training is desirable or a willingness to undertake training.

### Job responsibilities

Our multi-award-winning organisation is looking to recruit a Housekeeping Assistant to join our Hospitality team. This role may include some weekend working.

The role of Housekeeping Assistant will involve the delivery of Hospitality Services within our Campus, Care Homes, and Community Centres to excellent standards.

This post is working 5 out 7 days, 35 hours per week including every other weekend from 6.30am to 2pm (with some flexibility)

What you will be doing

You will have a key role ensuring we deliver an excellent service to our service users, creating an inviting and pleasant environment. You will:

- Deliver housekeeping activities to the highest standard, ensuring that cleanliness levels are maintained across Jewish Care
- Ensure safe and hygienic working practices are delivered
- Support the wider hospitality teams with events and festivals.
- Provide support with laundry duties, including distribution, washing, ironing, and preparation.
- Ensure Infection Control procedures are followed
- Inspect, monitor, record, and report, products, appliances, and consumables that are required
- Ensuring general waste, both clinical and recycling, is disposed of in accordance with the Waste Disposal Policy.
- Reporting any hazards or maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Who are we looking for?

- Previous experience working within a housekeeping environment, working both independently and within a team.
- COSHH training and Current Accredited Infection Control Certificate or willingness to be trained
- Cleaning experience in similar environment with a commitment to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Understanding of the challenges and sensitivity required to support vulnerable people
