We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic people with a flexible approach to work to join our Facilities Housekeeping team within the University Hospital of Llandough.

The vacancies are:

14:00-19:00 Monday to Friday

07:00-15:00 Any 5 from 7 days

### Main duties of the job

Candidates must have good customer care skills and be able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team. Housekeeping within a hospital environment, COSHH, health & safety within the workplace and infection control would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided. The ideal candidate will need to have the ability to adapt to an ever changing health care environment. You will need to be organised and have experience of working in a busy service and environment where you would be required to prioritise workloads according to schedules and service needs. There are development opportunities for people with good organisational and communication skills and a good knowledge of delivering a quality service to patients, relatives and members of staff. We offer excellent staff terms and conditions including enhanced rates of pay for weekend work, opportunity to join an excellent pension scheme, 28 annual leave days plus 8 bank holidays.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

**Essential**

- Good numeracy and literacy education Able to communicate clearly Commit to flexible working

- Ability to attend all UHB sites Able to work various hours Will be required to work bank holidays and weekends.

**Desirable**

- Able to undertake all aspect of cleaning in a NHS health care environment

### Abilities

**Essential**

- Able to work as a team member

**Desirable**

- Ability to speak Welsh Current clean driving licence

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Good general knowledge of cleaning techniques within a housekeeping and catering environment

### Experience

**Desirable**

- Experience of working in a health care environment Current or recent experience in clinical/domestic waste handling

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Good customer care and verbal communication skills Patient focused Ability to work without direct supervision

**Desirable**

- NVQ level 1 or 2 cleaning certificate or comparable cleaning certificate COSHH trained Health and Safety knowledge preferably within a NHS health environment
