This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic senior clinician to lead and shape frailty services within Acute Medicine. The role sits at the heart of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, providing expert clinical leadership to support some of our most complex and vulnerable patients. You will play a pivotal role in driving high-quality, person-centred care, influencing pathways, and enhancing outcomes for individuals with frailty across the acute setting.

Working closely with medical, nursing, and therapy teams, you will lead on clinical decision-making, workforce development, and service innovation. This role offers the opportunity to develop and embed best practice, strengthen multidisciplinary working, and contribute to strategic service improvements within a pressured but rewarding environment.

The post is ideally suited to a motivated clinician with strong leadership skills, a passion for frailty care, and a commitment to supporting and developing others. You will be instrumental in building resilience within the workforce, supporting junior staff, and ensuring safe, effective, and responsive services that meet the growing demands of acute frailty care.

We are looking for a SLT with relevant professional qualifications and  experience  to join the acute SLT team.  You should have experience of working with a wide range of communication and swallowing difficulties, be a good team player and able to organise your time effectively. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic person who will have the resilience to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.

You will be required to work effectively in collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams, including other health professionals to promote the development, planning and delivery of intervention programmes and training in the specialist clinical area.

The adult SLT service at Cardiff & Vale is a innovative and friendly service with Clinical Lead SLTs providing robust support and supervision. Participation in service projects and audits is encouraged. You will be expected to cover weekend working rota.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Evidence of high quality data processing and interpretation
- Evidence of critical appraisal and research skills
- Evidence of high quality innovation and service development

**Desirable**

- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- VF or FEES excperience

### Experience

**Essential**

- Significant post graduate experience of working with Stroke
- Evidence of working effectively in partnership with others within MDTs and across agencies

**Desirable**

- Experience of delivering group therapy sessions Face to face and online

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Speech & Language Therapy Degree
- HCPC Registration
- MSc or equivalent. This should include a post-graduate dysphagia qualification to at least RCSLT level C
- Evidence of specialist post graduate CPD/training relevant to the post

**Desirable**

- Membership of relevant CEN
