### Job summary

Do you have an interest working with young people within the Youth Justice Service? Do you have experience working with young people with complex communication difficulties/social, emotional and mental health issues and/or neurodevelopmental difficulties. Do you enjoy working with a range of other professionals?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our newly established community Children and Young Peoples Speech and Language Therapy team.

In this role you will deliver Highly Specialist Speech and Language assessment for young people known to the Youth Justice Service to inform them, their families/carers and the people around them of any identified communication difficulties. You will then provide appropriate training, therapy, advice and support to the young person and their family/carers, working alongside a range of other professionals.

You will work across two friendly and supportive teams (YJS and SLT) with access to ongoing CPD and regular supervision.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Relevant experience at a post graduate level
- Relevant highly specialist experience post qualification
- Experience within specialist area including SEMH/ Neurodevelopmental difficulties/ ACEs and Trauma Informed care.
- Experience in planning and providing care to children and young people independently.

**Desirable**

- Previous experience working with Youth Justice services.
