We are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to work across the Greenwich Older People’s Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and Shepherdleas Inpatient Mental Health Unit. This exciting four and a half day a week post will include providing highly specialist psychological assessment and interventions to individuals, families/networks and groups, along with offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers.

There are opportunities to become involved in a range of activities, including FIP, SCM, Service User Involvement and Community Engagement initiatives, and we would be keen to hear about the successful candidates therapeutic interests.  You will be joining teams with well established Psychology provisions and have access to a range of specialist supervision forums  available, including Neuropsychological, EMDR, CBT, FIP, and Systemic Therapy

### Main duties of the job

To provide specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and interventions to clients and their carers both individually and in groups

To offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and non-professional carers

To provide regular Reflective Practice Meetings to the ward team.

To have management and supervision responsibilities of trainees and junior members of the team

To undertake research and evaluation of the service

To work as a part of the multi-disciplinary teams which have close links with a wide range of agencies

The post holder will also be a member of the Older People's Mental Health Psychological Therapies teams and Directorate Psychological Therapy teams, attending and contributing to meetings, CPD and wider developments and tasks pertaining to Psychological Therapies.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of complex multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities, dementia etc).

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in older people’s mental health services, including with people with dementia and their carers
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient, and assessment and intervention with patients with a wide variety of neurological deficits.

**Desirable**

- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
- Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, as accredited by the BPS.
- HCPC registration

**Desirable**

- Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
