Are you passionate about improving outcomes for people experiencing psychosis and excited by the opportunity to build something new and innovative?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, compassionate, skilled, and experienced Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to take a role in the development of a brand-new Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service for NHS Grampian. This is a unique opportunity to help shape, influence, and establish a service that is the first of its kind within NHS Grampian, delivering evidence-based care to individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis (FEP) and supporting their families and carers.

As a member of the developing multidisciplinary team, you will contribute significantly to service design, implementation, and evaluation.

The EIP Service will adopt a proactive, recovery-focused approach, promoting social inclusion and delivering timely, accessible, and non-stigmatising support. Working across Grampian, the team will provide outreach-based assessment and treatment, helping people access the right support at the earliest opportunity.

We are looking for someone who:

- Has experience of working with people experiencing psychosis and complex mental health difficulties.
- Is passionate about early intervention and recovery-oriented care.
- Has significant experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Is motivated by service innovation and development.
- Wants to make a lasting difference to the lives of individuals and families at a critical stage of their mental health journey.

This is a Pan-Grampian post, with the successful candidate supporting service delivery across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, and Moray. The post will be based at Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen, although travel across Grampian will be required.

The position is offered on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027. There is potential for the post to be extended should additional funding become available, providing an exciting opportunity to be part of a service with ambitions for future growth and sustainability.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates

Interviews will take place on 30 October 2026

If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can combine clinical expertise with service innovation, we would be delighted to hear from you.
