## Job Content

### Job overview

The successful candidate will be proficient in transthoracic echocardiography and ideally hold an accreditation in either EACVI (Paediatric), or BSE Congenital or equivalent. This role is unique because we will support the successful candidate towards passing their examination and collecting cases for their logbook, to be sat with either the EACVI or the BSE Congenital / paediatric accreditation if not already held. We will fund the accreditation process (the first attempt). Based on the level of experience and accreditation status, we would also consider a Band 6 to be progressed to a fully accredited Band 7 Echocardiographer.

The candidate will support the routine clinical activities such as our busy Outpatient in our one-stop clinic, the inpatient services, or booked outpatient echo service. They will also support the department in other ways as specified in the job description as expected of a band 7 Echocardiographer.

For those who already hold accreditation in congenital echocardiography, it would be a great chance to improve your skills and broaden your knowledge and skills in this very complex area.

### Main duties of the job

To demonstrate technical proficiency in a wide range of Echo techniques and to actively maintain competency in these.

To act as a technical specialist in Echocardiography, providing technical and clinical information as required; primarily to Physiologist colleagues, Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons in an effective and efficient manner.

To assist with the day to day running of the Echo service, actively contributing to the smooth running of a quality service to patients.
