Our Children's Therapy Service is seeking Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist's to join our team!

We have full time & part time roles available, please let us know your preference on application.

The Children's Therapy Services identify, assess, support and manage the health needs of children and young people aged 0-18 years, working closely with children and their families in health settings, family homes; and within mainstream and specialist educational settings.

As a highly specialist clinical therapist, you will be the source of expertise, providing support, supervision, teaching, advice and consultation across Bristol , North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire within the clinical area of complex needs, neuro disability and postural management.

### Main duties of the job

- Provide support, supervision, teaching, advice to members of the therapy team across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.
- Expertise in complex needs with the ability to assess and treat cases as an autonomous, highly specialist and highly skilled clinician.
- Ability to implement treatment of children and young people with highly complex developmental, neurological and / or sensory conditions.
- To deputise in the responsibility for a locality team dependent on service needs.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- HCPC Registration
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational therapy as recognised by the HCPC.
- Evidence of advanced postgraduate training relevant to clinical area.
- Evidence of good, relevant, up to date CPD.

### Skills, Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in children's Occupational therapy community team working with children who may have complex disability, analysing complex and conflicting information to form diagnoses and appropriate intervention
- Advanced specialist knowledge of the theories and practical application of assessment and treatment of children and young people with highly complex developmental, neurological and/or sensory conditions. Including children with life limiting and complex medical conditions.
- Ability to provide and evaluate specific therapy interventions for patients with highly complex presentations
- Ability to deliver service, working as an autonomous practicioner in a community setting, ensuring own safety, safety of service users and having the ability to make effective clinical decisions without access to MDT support.
- Ability to lead on development, training and audit within given clinical specialty
- Ability to be mobile for travel to community settings, and able to transport equipment as appropriate to service needs

**Desirable**

- Experience of upper limb splinting
