A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, proactive and experienced cancer pharmacist to apply for the post of Highly Advanced Pharmacist – Lead for Oncology and Deputy Team Manager, as part of the Oxford Cancer Pharmacy Team at the Oxford Cancer & Haematology Centre.

The highly advanced oncology pharmacist will work as a highly advanced practitioner and will be able to develop their skills to become a future Consultant Pharmacist in line with the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework and the NHS Consultant Pharmacist Guidance. The post holder will be expected to work towards advanced level 2 and mastery within the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership & management, education & research, with core capabilities in a specific area of clinical competence.  The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as innovative ideas on improving service delivery and patient care.  This post promises to bring opportunities and challenges working within the cancer pharmacy team at the Oxford Cancer & Haematology Centre, giving the successful candidate the chance to develop and extend their clinical, leadership and managerial skills at a highly advanced level.

We will provide you with a comprehensive induction covering all aspects of the work, support from senior pharmacy staff and an environment to develop further.

### Main duties of the job

To support and deputise for the Consultant Cancer Pharmacist and manage, strategically lead and co-ordinate the cancer pharmacy team in the provision of a safe, effective and efficient clinical pharmacy service to the Oncology & Haematology Directorate.

To be an expert in Oncology.

To ensure the safe and effective use of medicines within Oncology through provision of medicine related aspects of patient care, promoting economy and improvements in quality, safety and cost effectiveness, and medicines optimisation.

To ensure all members of the Cancer Pharmacy Team are trained and competent for their role in Oncology through training and appraisal.

To accept case referrals for medicines optimisation in Oncology.

To act as a mentor and role model as an expert clinical pharmacist, manager and leader.

To use innovation to create new models for service delivery to support effective patient outcomes, safety and experience aligned with relevant national agenda; improve cost effectiveness and in particular support the QIPP agenda.

To lead and deliver education and training in Oncology for pharmacy and other healthcare professionals across the health economy.

To lead, undertake, supervise and publish research in relevant Oncology journals.

To be a lead and role model in the field of Oncology locally, regionally and nationally.

The role is a training Consultant Cancer Pharmacist post in line with the NHS Consultant Pharmacist Guidance 2020.

- Shapes direction of professional group (e.g. Committee Member, Member of Expert Practice development group)
- Post Graduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma/MSc qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of managing a team
- Broad clinical or directorate pharmacy provision in a number of different clinical areas
- Appropriate and current clinical experience in relevant specialist area
- Proven experience of working at a strategic level with senior clinicians and managers and experience of working in an integrated directorate team
