### Job overview

The post holder will work as part of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYPMH) Service, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to children, young people, and their families. Provide high intensity interventions as recommended by NICE, initially Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Participate in a duty rota system taking the lead on the triage process and being point of contact for the team and referrers. To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.

### Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As part of the team you will take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self-harm.

We are looking for a trained CBT and EMDR therapist. They will provide high intensity interventions as recommended by NICE, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR. To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.

The CAMHS services within LCFT are undergoing a transformation programme to implement the THRIVE model as a response to the Five Year Forward View. To meet this forward thinking view we are specifically looking for practitioners with a modern mind-set and an enthusiasm for the new model.

A means of transport is essential and applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Experience of working with children and young people with mental health needs
- Understanding of child development and common mental health presentations
- Ability to deliver structured interventions under supervision Good communication and interpersonal skills

### Experience

**Essential**

- An ability to interact effectively with other professionals. An ability to interact effectively with children, young people and their parents
- Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.
- An interest in working with children, young people and their families. Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) or other Post Graduate CBT training course
- A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology, a recorded/registered qualification in one of – nursing, social work, occupational therapy plus further post graduate qualification in CBT
- Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required
