### Job overview

A great opportunity has arisen for any midwife who wishes to be part of credible dedicated High Dependency Team at Queen Charlotte's Hospital

It has an excellent maternal medicine service taking referrals from across the region and subsequently many women with highly complicated pregnancies will require their care to be within a dedicated High Dependency.  There is multidisciplinary collaboration with other services to ensure high standards of care.

This is an excellent opportunity for midwives who are enthusiastic, motivated and interested in this area of midwifery and wish to enhance their skills and knowledge to provide higher levels of care to sick obstetric women.  We provide a 24hr service with midwives who are skilled at caring for the critically ill obstetric woman.

You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment with the opportunity for further education.  You will be part of the delivery suite team and therefore will have on occasions the opportunity to maintain normal midwifery, theatre and recovery skills.  Support and training will be provided in the form of study days, one to one teaching and in-house workshops by a multi-disciplinary team and lead midwife for HDU.

Midwives must have enthusiasm and interest in this area of midwifery and have had experience in caring for the sick obstetric woman or the critically ill adult patient.  Midwives should be willing to undertake further study where applicable as well as being flexible with their rota.
