An opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Service. This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals experiencing acute mental health crises and help them receive safe, responsive, and person-centred care within the community.

Mental Health Care Support Workers are essential in helping patients through difficult chapters of their lives, providing trust and being trusted, as well as being an integral part of a patients' journey, giving  hope and support.

You will be carrying out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a Registered Clinician and participate in the development and implementation of high quality care.

We are looking for a caring individual with a passion for mental health care, who is able to work shifts including night and weekend work.

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will work alongside Nurses, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, and other mental health professionals to provide high-quality care and emotional support to service users during periods of crisis

You will have a flexible approach to mental health care which will enable you to establish the best possible ways to care for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

You will be working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols to promote positive mental/physical/nutritional health with patients.

You will implement clinical tasks in care packages/care plans, document observations and actions as directed by a registered healthcare professional.

You will participate with other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in providing a programme of care and to change the patients recovery.

You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice and training on a regular basis.

### Experience

- Demonstrable experience of working within physical or mental health services
- Experience of team working

**Desirable**

- Experience of preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before & after patient care interventions

- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills with patients/colleagues/carers

### Qualifications and knowledge

**Essential**

- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience
