This is a fixed-term position for 12 months to provide maternity cover and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional to work within a specialist oncology and surgical ward environment. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care to individuals undergoing complex cancer treatments and surgical procedures. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist registered nurses in providing safe, compassionate and effective care, ensuring patients receive the highest standards of support throughout their treatment journey. Previous experience in an acute hospital setting is essential, and experience within oncology, surgical care or cancer services would be advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a caring and professional attitude, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced specialist environment. Please refer to the standard Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) Job Description for full details of the role and responsibilities. ### Main duties of the job To carry out in a responsible and efficient way, the nursing care for patients which has been drawn up in conjunction with the co-ordinator of the shift. To demonstrate the ability to develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities. As an integral member of the nursing teamwork with team members to ensure the maintenance of an efficient, safe, clean and pleasant environment for all patients. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities For further information please refer to the job description and personal specification To undertake and practice the Care Certificate standards. Monitoring and recording patients’ vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation) and reporting any abnormal results to registered nursing staff.
