Join Our Team Are you a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant looking to develop your skills in primary care? We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at Tieve Tara Medical Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care within a busy GP practice. Working under the supervision of our Lead Practice Nurse, you will support patients throughout their healthcare journey and contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centered care.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide a range of clinical and patient-focused services, including and will work closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team to help deliver excellent primary care services to our local community.

**Essential**

- The ability to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of social inclusion and impact of deprivation.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and resolve potential conflict
- The ability to use initiative and take responsibility for agreed appropriate tasks.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with the awareness of knowing when to seek support
- The ability and skill to form positive therapeutic relationships
- Support service users' own decision-making that builds on their strengths.
- There is a requirement to undertake training to become proficient in the use of SystemOne.
- Good patient assessment skills.
- Knowledge of signs and symptoms of a range of mental and physical disorders and its effects on individuals. phlebotomy procedures
- Ability to undertake ECG’s
- Experience in wound care and wound management
- Experience in monitoring and support with the management of long-term conditions
- The ability to use SystmOne clinical records, and Microsoft Word packages
- NHS Health checks
- Stock room ordering, and emergency equipment checks.

**Desirable**

- Chaperone coil and implant clinic
- Experience with LD and care home patients
- SystmOne

### Education

**Essential**

- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or currently studying in the final year of a degree in nursing
- Pass at GCSE, or equivalent in Maths, English and a science subject

**Desirable**

- Additional skills and competencies within nursing achieved through accreditation with skills for health, First Steps Programme or universally recognised Higher Care certificate.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Experience of working with people with health needs.
- Knowledge of primary care, mental health and addiction support services and an ability to work across these areas under supervision
- Knowledge of relevant nursing procedures and practices
- Previous experience of working in a GP practice
- Experience of work in a multidisciplinary team setting.

**Desirable**

- Experience in Accident and Emergency settings
