We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our Theatre/Endoscopy team at the Lorn and Islands Hospital Oban. The department cares for elective and emergency surgical and endoscopy patients.

The Theatre/Endoscopy department is operational Monday to Friday for people attending for both general surgery and endoscopy procedures. In addition, there is an out of hours on call service for emergencies.

The successful applicant will work 2 days per week in all areas - Peri-operative, Anaesthetics, Reception, Recovery and Endoscopy, and be part of the on call team.

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain new skills and experience in elective, emergency and surgical/endoscopic procedures.

Candidates should have the ability to work well under pressure, willing to work flexibly to meet the needs of the 24/7 service while supporting the team to provide safe and effective care to patients with varying levels of complexity.Previous healthcare experience is essential. - Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
