We are pleased to offer exciting and rewarding opportunities for compassionate and caring individuals to join our Forensic Inpatient Services across Hampshire as Healthcare Support Workers.

This role will offer you the opportunity to provide career-defining training and challenges; it will offer exposure to a unique and rewarding environment where you will be part of a close-knit team.

We have opportunities available at the below inpatient units:

- Ravenswood House (based in Fareham): a medium and low secure, forensic unit providing assessment, care and treatment for adult men with serious mental illness.
- Southfield (based in Calmore, Tatchbury Mount-near Southampton): a low secure, forensic mental health inpatient service for people with serious mental illness who are aged 18-65 years.
- Ashford (Tatchbury Mount, near Southampton): 10-bedded low secure unit specifically for adult men with a learning disability who have been detained under the Mental Health Act.

These roles benefit from an additional forensic lead payment of £1401 pro rata, per annum.

### Main duties of the job

What is the role of a Healthcare Support Worker in a forensic inpatient environment?

Healthcare Support Workers work closely with service users, their families, friends, and carers. You will be essential in ensuring those who use our services have a positive experience and work as part of our dedicated multi-disciplinary team comprising Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Specialist Therapists, and Psychiatrists.

You will work with other team members to promote independence, by providing effective treatment and skills training within a risk management plan to enable our patients to be discharged into the community, or where needs dictate, onto an appropriate continuing healthcare service.

If you are new to healthcare, we will place you on a HCSW induction programme to ensure that you are fully trained and supported to perform the role. The programme will last for up to 6 months and during this period of training you will be paid a salary of 25,272. On completion of your training period your salary will rise to 25,760 as per the advert.

At present, the Trust is unable to offer Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship for this post. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
