### Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Science Practitioner or Scientist to join our friendly Neurophysiology team at the NNUH. Our team of 7 Scientists, 3 Consultants, a Specialist Registrar and 2 administrative staff help around 5500 patients a year, of all ages & abilities, suffering from a wide range of disorders

The scientists provide a full modality of investigations;

- Video-EEG; routine, sleep, portable, ambulatory and Telemetry
- Nerve Conduction Studies; for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Ulnar and Peripheral Neuropathy
- Evoked Potentials; VEP, ERG (pattern, flash & multi-focal), EOG (all to ISCEV standard) and SEP
- Intra Operative Monitoring for Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery

The department operates from 8AM to 6PM on weekdays; there is no evening, weekend or on-call work (only occasional late working for long IOM cases), and we can accommodate flexible working patterns, such as a four-day week.

Norwich is a vibrant, historic city; regularly voted as one of the best places to live in the UK by the Guardian and Sunday Times - the latter awarded Norwich first place in 2026! It is filled with independent cafes, excellent restaurants, many shops and all the typical high street chains. Norfolk has over 100 miles of stunning coast, the 800-year-old Norfolk Broads and endless countryside to explore. With excellent transport links to Cambridge and London, affordable housing and award-winning schools; Norfolk offers everything you need to establish the perfect work life balance.

### Main duties of the job

Our vacancy is open to applicants at band 6 (Healthcare Science Practitioner) or band 7 (Healthcare Scientist). Both roles perform all routine investigations (all EEG’s and NCS for CTS, UMN & PN), along with contribution to the daily running of the department and training of junior team members. The band 7 role also incorporates our specialist investigations; VEP, ERG, EOG, SEPs and IOM. If employed at band 6, there will be the opportunity to be trained to become proficient in these specialist investigations to reach the band 7 position.

We actively encourage professional development; our department is lucky to have a significant training budget so you will be supported to achieve additional competencies via a wide range of opportunities. This vacancy is open to all experienced or newly qualified individuals; minimum entry requirements can be found in each Job Description.

Please note that the interview date is Wednesday 26th of August. Interviewees will be required to attend in person to undertake a practical evaluation. Please note on your application whether you are applying for the band 6 or 7 role and confirm that you can attend the interview in person.
