### Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) to deliver a nationally significant workforce transformation project within Radiotherapy in NHS Wales.

The postholder will lead delivery of Phase 2 of the Multi‑Professional Radiotherapy Target Definition programme, funded through Advancing Radiotherapy Cymru, over a 12‑month period.

The focus of this role will include developing a national framework for outlining radiotherapy treatments, creating a compendium of training resources, designing a delivery model for implementation across Wales, and supporting rollout, evaluation and impact within clinical services.

The postholder will work closely with HEIW Healthcare Science Workforce Transformation, the Multi‑Professional Radiotherapy Target Definition Group, and key clinical and educational stakeholders across NHS Wales.

The role is open to Therapeutic Radiographers, Medical Physicists and Clinical Technologists working in Radiotherapy. Applications are also welcomed from other professionals who can clearly evidence relevant experience in developing national training frameworks, educational resources and delivery models. Experience of multi‑professional working and translating clinical practice into structured training resources is desirable.

### Main duties of the job

This is a key role within the HEIW Nursing and Health Professions Transformation and Quality Directorate and Healthcare Science . The role encompasses leadership, strategic planning, and management of key aspects of Workforce transformation. As such the postholder will be required to work in a matrix style management arrangement supporting the Associate Director of Healthcare Science Workforce Transformation as well as working alongside colleagues from Health Boards and Trusts of NHS Wales and other professional leads.

This post is secondment until 31/03/2027 inline with workplan.

This post is being offered as a secondment opportunity only. If you wish to apply, you must have your line manager’s approval before making an application. ### Qualifications and Knowledge

**Essential**

- Educated to Master’s degree level in relevant subject, or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
- Professional Registration with the HCPC or other relevant registration body, where applicable.
- Knowledge of the importance of emerging technology in healthcare and its importance to the health and care agenda.
- Knowledge of the strategic direction for NHS Wales.

**Desirable**

- Post graduate educational qualification.
- Project management qualification e.g. PRINCE2.
