### Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Healthcare Assistant who is passionate and interested in working in an Acute inpatient mental services for patients. You must be able to work flexibly and willing to adapt with the changing needs of our services. The post will require a high level of teamwork as well as a degree of autonomous working.

The inpatient is a dynamic, caring and compassionate environment. The team is highly motivated, focused and hardworking with a strong commitment to delivering high quality patient care. The therapeutic environment offers a broad range of interventions working co-productively with patients and cares to deliver an excellent service.  There is a positive approach to reducing restrictive practice and promoting positive engagement across the unit.

The ward team is a multi - disciplinary mental health team that aims to provide a safe and effective clinical assessment and treatment service for patient requiring acute mental health treatment in hospital informally or under a Section of the Mental Health Act. The inpatient unit is situated at the Mental Health Unit, Claybrook Road, Hammersmith.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Ward manager and Registered Mental Health Nurses to provide safe, effective and high quality care for our adult patients with mental health needs.  The post holder would ensure the delivery of high quality and effective nursing care to mental health service users receiving Inpatient and/or Community services within a service area, in accordance with the objectives and vision of the Trust

Applicants should experience of working within mental health services and within a multidisciplinary team and multi-agency frameworks. You will receive a full induction and be given proactive and regular supervision, on-going access to training and support to undertake this exciting, challenging and highly rewarding role. This includes being part of a supportive, caring and innovative team where there is a proactive approach to staff wellbeing and their clinical and professional development.

- To be knowledgeable/understanding about factors that cause/impact of mental health problems and associated interventions.
- Evidence of caring and/or demonstrable interest in working within a care setting
- Evidence of compassion and basic kindness
- Courage – having the honesty and integrity to report mistakes
