If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our inpatient wards.

Tenbury inpatient ward is a 16 bedded unit. We have a fantastic team who are welcoming, supportive and are passionate to provide quality patient-centred care. We are proud of the strong multidisciplinary relationships we hold and approach we take, to complete a holistic assessment and personalised ongoing care planning.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic and motivated to support within our multi-disciplinary team. Playing a positive role in a patients journey with a responsive and flexible approach to work. The successful candidate should hold good communication and interpersonal skills. Most importantly, you will embody the trust values of being Courageous, Ambitious, Responsive, Empowering and Supportive (CARES) in everything you do.

### Main duties of the job

As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, you will work under the direction of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to support in providing high-quality, person-centred care.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting patients with personal care needs while promoting dignity, independence and choice
- Assisting patients with mobility, rehabilitation activities and daily living skills
- Undertaking and recording clinical observations such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturations, height and weight
- Supporting patients with nutrition and hydration.
- Observing and reporting changes in patients' physical, emotional or mental wellbeing.
- Contributing to patient documentation and electronic record keeping, ensuring this is accurate and up to date.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Maintaining a safe, clean and therapeutic ward environment
- Supporting the delivery of rehabilitation programmes that help patients achieve their goals and maximise independence
- Providing physical and emotional end-of-life care to both patients and their loved ones.

The successful candidate should hold a strong skill set to support in providing hands-on care that can be physically and emotionally demanding. You may support people who are, distressed, confused or at one of the most vulnerable points in their life. In-turn you will be providing personal care with dignity and kindness gaining a feeling of personal satisfaction.

Please note

- - Tenbury Community Hospital is a rural hospital with limited public transport. Therefore, if you are applying for this position, it is important you have your own method of transport to attend site. - There will be a requirement to work on a 7- day rota to provide day, night, weekend & bank holiday cover.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of care related procedures, clinical observations, and relevant legislation.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in a care environment

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Vocational qualification level 3 or equivalent / level 2 qualification in care and willing to undertake relevant level 3 qualification upon appointment.
- Care Certificate or expected to gain within 12 weeks of commencing in Trust.
- Willing and able to undertake Safety Intervention training

### Skills & Abilities

**Essential**

- Ability to provide limited delegated clinical duties to patients e.g. patient observations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
