### Main duties of the job

As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, you will work under the direction of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, person-centred care.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting patients with personal care needs while promoting dignity, independence and choice.

Assisting patients with mobility, rehabilitation activities and daily living skills.

Undertaking and recording clinical observations such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturations, height and weight.

Supporting patients with nutrition and hydration.

Observing and reporting changes in patients' physical, emotional or mental wellbeing.

Contributing to patient documentation and electronic record keeping.

Communicating effectively with patients, families, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Maintaining a safe, clean and therapeutic ward environment.

Supporting the delivery of rehabilitation programmes that help patients achieve their goals and maximise independence.

Successful applicants will be expected to work a variety of shifts over a 7-day period including days and nights and weekends.

### Knowledge

### Qualifications

- Vocational qualification level 3 or equivalent / level 2 qualification in care and willing to undertake relevant level 3 qualification upon appointment.
- Care Certificate or expected to gain within 12 weeks of commencing in Trust.
- Willing and able to undertake Safety Intervention training.
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
