## Job Content

Priory Hospital Bristol is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours a week. This includes enhancements evenings and weekend rates. We offer fast access to treatment for a number of mental health concerns and addictions. Bristol is an ideal place for treating people with complex disorders, including people who may not have responded to previous treatment. We can guarantee that our comprehensive treatment programmes are guided by current evidence-based research.

### What you'll be doing

- Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
- Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
- Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

### What you'll bring to the role

**Essential**

- Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or hold GCSEs in Mathematics and English and should have a basic level of IT literacy. They must understand the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality. While no specific prior experience is required, the role involves frequent interaction with staff, patients, and visitors on the ward, including the regular exchange of routine information both in person and over the telephone. Well-developed observational and listening skills are essential for effectively monitoring the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of patients.
