The Hadley Unit is the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within the Trust.

Hadley Unit is a 9 bed mixed gender treatment ward that is situated in Worcester. The Hadley Unit is a referral-based service; we can accept referrals from a number of sources including the community, acute wards and patients detained by the Ministry of Justice. As one of the Health Care Assistants on the ward you will work closely with the wards Staff Nurses and the management and medical team.

This is a part time role working 26.25 hours per week.

Part of your role is to ensure patient care is of the highest standards, you act as a role model at all times and use your initiative to maintain quality and safety.

An enthusiastic, motivated and innovative thinker to become part of the inpatient team

The ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills along with a flexible and responsive approach

Close working with all members of the Multi-disciplinary Team

Assessment and Management of risk

Liaising with other services such as, neighbouring wards, community mental health team, home treatment team, inpatient pathway team, social care, Mental Health Liaison Team and the Acute Trust.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids.
- Experience of working in a care environment.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Vocational qualification level 3 or equivalent / level 2 qualification in care and willing to undertake relevant level 3 qualification upon appointment or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust.
- Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training.
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
