### Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge, working in a fast-paced environment? If so, this could be the role for you! Being responsible for providing an effective service for all visitors presenting in the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Evesham Community Hospital. You will be the first point of contact for our patients. You will be responsible for providing a professional, efficient, and courteous reception service, both in person and over the phone, while always ensuring patient confidentiality.

The successful candidate must be flexible, forward thinking and proactive and require a commitment to ensure we provide a high-quality service to our patients. This is a challenging role which requires excellent communication and empathy skills.

To contribute to the delivery of a high quality MIU across the Trust and Community.

The position is for a Healthcare Support Worker, 23 hour post to cover long days/weekends on a rota basis.

Please note the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship to work for this role. Employment on a time limited visa doesn't guarantee sponsorship at point of expiry.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder is part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients. Support and supervision is provided by a Registered Nurse. This role will be expected to carry out a range of patient care tasks and duties to enable the team to provide an effective and efficient service.

To achieve this the post holder will be expected to:

Competently perform the necessary aspects of care for patients.

Ensure effective delivery of care is provided to patients and that an acceptable standard is maintained.

Follow all policies and provide a safe and person-centred environment for patients.

Participate in personal and practice development activities to maintain standards of care.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of care related procedures, clinical observations, and relevant legislation.
- Can demonstrate an understanding of how to promote independence and facilitate learning in others.
- Basic IT skills.

**Desirable**

- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of MHA and MCA issues.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of areas relating to role setting (i.e. Mental Health, Learning Disability, Autism, Epilepsy).

### Experience

- Experience of working in a care environment.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Vocational qualification level 3 or equivalent / level 2 qualification in care and willing to undertake relevant level 3 qualification upon appointment or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Care Certificate or expected to gain within 12 weeks of commencing in
- Trust.
- Willing and able to undertake Safety Intervention training.
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
