### Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity to use your acute ward experience, build your clinical skills and make a real difference to patients and their families. You will be a valued member of a team where people support each other and work together to give patients the best possible experience. Please note that this is a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant role and is not suitable for Nursing Associates or registered nurses.

### Main duties of the job

* Supporting patients with personal care, hygiene, mobility and physical comfort * Assisting patients with eating, drinking and elimination needs * Completing and reporting clinical observations, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and fluid balance * Recognising and reporting changes in a patient's condition * Communicating clearly and compassionately with patients, visitors and colleagues * Working closely with registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team * Maintaining patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality * Supporting infection prevention and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment * Assisting with stock control and the safe use of clinical equipment * Completing delegated tasks within the limits of your training and competence * Participating in mandatory training, competency assessments and departmental projects

Join our friendly and supportive Digestive Diseases Unit, where you will work alongside experienced nurses and healthcare professionals to provide high quality care. A little about the role You will join our busy 16 bed Digestive Diseases Unit, an acute ward caring for patients with a range of digestive health conditions. You will work closely with our registered nurses and wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, compassionate and patient centred care. You will support patients with their personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and comfort, while always respecting their privacy, dignity and individual needs. You will also complete routine clinical observations and quickly report any changes in a patient's condition to the registered nurse or nurse in charge. You will be supported by an experienced and friendly clinical team.
