You will be responsible for accurately preparing and distributing patient records to wards and clinics in a timely manner, ensuring all information is accessible for consultations and treatments. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling health records and a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality and accuracy. A flexible approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

### Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to provide an effective Healthcare Records service for Basildon/Orsett Hospital in accordance with agreed policies and procedures with direct/indirect supervision of the Health Records Team Leader.

The Health Records Centre cover a variety of area within the department.

Work as an active member of the Health Records team in providing efficient support to the heath records service for the trust.

Ensure Healthcare Records are booked in to the department after the clinic appointment has taken place, along with any Inpatient file that is received within the department.

Preparation of notes within the department are a daily aspect of the role, along with preparing the notes for scanning and quality checking.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE A-C Grades in English and Maths / NVQ 2 or equivalent of knowledge

### Knowledge & Experience

**Essential**

- Basic computer skills including Microsoft products
- Understanding of confidentiality and implications of non-compliance
- Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, interpret and present complex data both manual and computerised

**Desirable**

- Previous NHS experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Knowledge of Medway/Lorenzo, Acute Care Portal and other Trust computer systems
