An exciting opportunity for a  Healthcare Support Worker /Customer Care Officer(HCSW/CCO) post has arisen in Haringey Sexual Health Services- Young People/Long Acting Contraception (LARC).

We are looking for a  motivated and enthusiastic healthcare support worker with an interest in sexual and reproductive health to join our services within Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.  This is a 22.5 hour per week permanent  position within our Sexual and Reproductive Health Services based in Haringey.

The successful applicant will be required to rotate between the clinics in Haringey but periodically may be required to work  at other services within the Directorate of Sexual & Reproductive Health. This post will require working evenings and some weekends. In addition, the postholder will work with the nursing team to deliver  clinical outreach sessions  to reach vulnerable young people.

- Computer literate – full training will be given for our computer system

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will support the multidisciplinary team, working under the supervision of registered nurses. Register patients onto the clinical system and perform administrative tasks associated with clinical services  and  will assist patients through the clinic. Chaperone doctors and nurses. Carry out venepuncture Manage asymptomatic male and female patients through the service, screen for sexually transmitted infections including HIV. The post holder will keep the material resources of the clinic well stocked and in good order. Establish and maintain communication with people on routine and operational matters. Contributes to own personal development. Assist in maintaining own and other health, safety and security. Assist in maintaining and developing services. Ensure own actions help to maintain quality. Ensure own actions support equality, diversity and rights.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Works with young people
- Experience working in sexual health

**Desirable**

- Working with members of the public
- Working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Work related experience in healthcare setting

### Knowledge & Skills

**Essential**

- NVQ Level 3 relevant to post or relevant experience in healthcare setting/NHS or similar

**Desirable**

- Phlebotomy skills

- Communication skills – listens attentively and speaks clearly and confidentiality; able to converse with a variety of people
