Healthcare Support Worker - Band 3 - 30 hrs per week - Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are currently looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to join the Acute Frailty Hub within the Intermediate Tier Service Division as a Healthcare Assistant.

Under the direction of the Sister/Charge Nurse you will help us to ensure that we provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment for our patients.

Applicants should be excellent communicators and have a positive approach to patient care. A polite and courteous manner towards patients and relatives will be essential for this role, together with your ability to work under pressure, as part of a team as well as organising your own workload.

Previous hospital experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided to ensure you have the skills required to fulfil the position.

## Person Specification

### Skills & Abilities

**Essential**

- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Competent at a range of clinical duties, within 6 months.
- Caring/supportive attitude
- Able to carry out routine duties, adapt and reprioritise according to patients needs as necessary
- Ability to supervise staff

**Desirable**

- Experience of supporting Quality Improvement /audits / research and development activities

### Experience/Knowledge

**Essential**

- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Worked at a band 2 Health Care Assistant level or equivalent
- Experience of working with the multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of caring for patients.
- Awareness and understanding of importance of confidentiality
- Knowledge of Infection Control & Safeguarding processes

**Desirable**

- Experience of support and supervision

### Person Specification

**Essential**

- completed the national care certificate
- Functional skills assessment level 2 Maths or English GCSE
- Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare
