### Job overview

Applications are invited for the role of Head of Audiology Services for a 9-month maternity cover. We are looking for a highly experienced Audiologist to lead our forward thinking and friendly Audiology Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate would be expected to manage a varied workload with responsibility for clinical governance, quality management,  workforce planning, whilst bringing expert clinical oversight.

The department holds IQIPS accreditation and the post holder will be responsible for the quality management of the Audiology Service, ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high quality care.

### Main duties of the job

- The post holder will be a highly experienced  audiologist who will provide expert audiological evaluation and rehabilitation
- They will be responsible for managing  the operation of the Audiology Service.
- The post holder will provide clinical supervision and training to junior members of staff, work autonomously, should show initiative and manage own caseload
- The post holder should already hold registration with the relevant body.
- The post holder will be responsible for service development, quality assurance and service performance reporting
- Responsibility for delivery against DM01 targets and RTT targets.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Post qualification clinical experience.
- Experience of managing people
- Highly developed specialist knowledge.
- Attendance of relevant courses/conferences

### Education/ Qualifications

**Essential**

- MSc in Audiology with clinical competency or equivalent qualification/experience
- Specialist training courses and relevant experience
- Experience and training in management and leadership
- Clinical Scientist HCPC registration or evidence that equivalence is being applied for

**Desirable**

- Specialist training in aetiology of hearing loss

### Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

**Essential**

- Overcoming barriers i.e. age and English as a second language.
- Ability to manage adults and children with challenging behaviours, patients under stress and their relatives
- Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
