### Job overview

We are looking to appoint a 2x Support Coordinators to support the provision of high-quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement within the Head & Neck and Ophthalmology Centre.

Both posts are 37.5hrs per week, part time hours could be considered.

The successful applicant will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital but will be required at times to cross site work at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The post holder will receive full training and ongoing support to achieve their full potential.  The post holder will be a point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment and discharge.

The post holder will provide a patient focused service that supports the Head & Neck and Ophthalmology Coordinator and clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.

### Main duties of the job

- Preparation, typing and distribution of information reports as required supporting the work of the centre co-ordinators within the centre.
- The collating of information and population of SQL/PTL reports used to monitor performance and manage demand and capacity for specialities within the centre.
- To provide 18 week clock validation support to the co-ordinators
- To take personal responsibility for self-development with regard to keeping up to date with computer software and NHS issues.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Understanding of confidentiality/data protection issues.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of NHS policies.

### Education /Training

**Essential**

- 4 GCSE’s (C and above) or equivalent
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

### Skills and Aptitudes

**Essential**

- High standard of grammar and spelling
- Team worker

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of NHS performance standards relating to Cancer and 18-week referral to treatment times

### Special Requirements

**Essential**

- A requirement may be made to operate on another site within the Trust

### Experience and Attainments

**Essential**

- Knowledge of RTT
- Knowledge of software programs

**Desirable**

- Experience of NHS working practices
- Previous office experience
