### Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join the head and neck specialist nursing team has become available. We are a small, friendly, and proactive team based in Bexley Wing, St Jamess Hospital. We are keyworkers for patients with head and neck cancer and are pivotal in supporting patients at diagnosis, right through to the end of their treatment, whether this is through a curative or palliative pathway. We are looking for a highly motivated and diligent nurse who can work both independently and as part of a team, who possesses excellent communication skills and who is passionate about improving patient experience for head and neck cancer patients.

### Main duties of the job

The jobholder will contribute to the development of the speciality service through audit, education and training. The successful candidate will be offered an induction package, along with opportunities for both personal and professional development. Relevant experience at band 5 level is required. The post holder will be responsible to the band 7 team leader; our offices are in the Bexley Wing, SJUH. Some of our wards and clinics are cross-site; due to this, the postholder would be required to review patients regularly at the Leeds General Infirmary and the Leeds Dental Institute.
