This will provide an excellent opportunity to focus your advanced nursing skills on direct patient care and service development.      The post holder will be responsible for the coordination of patients’ throughout their complex care journey Within the team, there is a wide breadth of experience and there will be a need to cross-cover within the team, as well as in the paediatric service, to ensure a safe service. The role is a specialist educational resource and the post holder will be expected to facilitate the professional development of junior nurses in the department. The post has full administrative and data management support. ### Main duties of the job This post involves lifelong care for all patients with haemoglobinopathies and iron disorders, we are now excitingly also involved in the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Gene Therapy pathways. You will be responsible for all aspects of their care as designated below.  The team is responsible for liaising with a number of external services such as The Red Cell Network Haemoglobinopathy co-ordinating centre (TRCN HCC), The National Haemoglobinopathy Panel (NHP), NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), as well as working closely with patients and their carers and health and care services outside of UCLH. The post holder will manage and coordinate clinical follow up programmes as part of a multidisciplinary team. We work closely with our Haemoglobinopathy Co-ordinating Centre (HCC) and take an active lead in being a Specialist Haemoglobinopathy Centre (SHT). The general Haemoglobinopathy/Haematology CNS team is part of the renowned haematology and cancer nursing service at UCLH and we provide professional development, both in-job and through post graduate pathways.
