An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our developing homecare team within UHD covering the care of the patient with a haematology / oncology diagnosis that require treatment within their own home.

We are expanding our innovative community cancer care team and are looking for highly motivated, upskilled nurses to join our growing team. If you have experience in haematology and oncology and are passionate about delivering high quality patient centred care closer to home, we would love to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to work across UHD and the wider local community, helping to shape the future of cancer care delivery in the region.

### Main duties of the job

To provide a specialist nursing service within the community setting for patients requiring haematology and oncology specific care and management of on going treatment, including deliver of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT).

Be an autonomous practitioner and have the freedom to act to influence patient care and service provision, under the guidance of the Band 7.

Promote best practice and delivering coordinated quality cancer care to patients and their families.

## Person Specification

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- knowledge of caring for patients within the cancer setting
- autonomous working

**Desirable**

- knowledge of haematology and oncology conditions

### Experience

**Essential**

- post reg clinical experience in oncology and haematology
- experience of working in a multi professional environment
- experience of managing treatment related side effects of SACT
- able to manage own workload

**Desirable**

- band 5 experience in speciality
- experience working as a community nurse
- physical assessment skills

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Current NMC registration
- Degree in adult nursing
- Completion of UKONS SACT passport and evidence of competence

**Desirable**

- psychological skills
- advanced communication skills
- post graduate diploma or MSc in relevant field

### technical skills

**Essential**

- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
