### Job overview

The post holder will join a dedicated 6-member Gynae oncology fellow team to provide middle-grade clinical cover for inpatient care for patients in the ward or High Dependency Unit / Intensive Therapy Unit, and also take part in outpatient clinics (joint oncology, colposcopy and pre-operative), Gynaecology MDT Clinics, Vulval, Colposcopy clinics, Gynaecological oncology theatres. They are also required to take part in the Gyn Oncology middle-grade on-call rota (not during normal working hours, non-resident cover, 1 in 6), with an occasional requirement (based on career stage) to cover the general gynaecology on-call rota. The department has hosted research fellows, including Out of Programme for Research (OOPR) and Out of Programme for Clinical Experience (OOPE), for UK speciality training registrars in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, pursuing a Master’s in Gyn Oncology (MCh Gyn Oncology) and an MD (self-funded registration). A recent clinical research fellow has completed the fellowship as an OOPR in the department and is currently writing up the MD thesis.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- - Evidence of 4-7 years clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- - Evidence of involvement in an audit project, a quality improvement project or research project
- - Oncology experience

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- - Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- - Primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC
- - Part 3 MRCOG completed

**Desirable**

- - Postgraduate degree
- - Evidence of distinction at university or postgraduate examinations
- - Certification of previous robotic training

### KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

**Essential**

- - Confidence in gynaecological surgical skills evidenced by ATSM/SITM
- - Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of clinical knowledge and the enthusiasm to promote evidence-based practice
- - Demonstrate evidence of being able to Manage time and prioritise clinical need

**Desirable**

- - Demonstrable evidence of laparoscopy skills
