This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an exceptional senior leader to join Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG) as Deputy Group Chief Integration Officer/Director of Strategy, Improvement and Redesign.

You will work alongside Executive Directors, Clinical Leaders, Place-Based Partners, Local Authorities and the DLN Integrated Care Board to drive innovation, improve patient outcomes, and deliver large-scale programmes that transform health and care services across Lincolnshire.

We are seeking an inspiring and visionary leader with significant senior NHS experience, a proven track record of delivering strategic change, and the ability to build strong partnerships across complex organisations. You will bring outstanding leadership, political acuity, and the ability to translate ambitious strategic goals into tangible improvements for patients, staff and communities.

### Main duties of the job

- Lead the Trust’s Strategy, Planning, Improvement, Transformation and Strategic Partnerships functions, ensuring delivery of the Group’s strategic objectives.
- Deputise for the Group Chief Integration Officer and represent the organisation at Board, system and regional level as required.
- Lead the development of the Trust’s Strategic Framework, including organisational vision, priorities and long-term plans.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual planning process, ensuring resources are aligned to strategic priorities and performance objectives.
- Drive large-scale transformation and service redesign programmes, identifying opportunities for innovation, growth and integration across health and care services.
- Lead the Trust’s Quality Improvement (QI) agenda, embedding continuous improvement methodologies and developing a culture of sustainable change.
- Act as a key system leader, building productive partnerships with Integrated Care Systems, local authorities, commissioners, primary care and other external organisations.
- Lead major service developments,
- Provide strategic advice to the Board and Executive Team on national policy, emerging healthcare trends and organisational priorities.
- Lead and develop the Strategy, Improvement and Redesign team, fostering high performance, capability development and leadership growth.
- Lead high-profile Trust-wide and system-wide projects that support integrated care, service transformation and delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Director of Strategy, Improvement and Redesign is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering the strategic direction of Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group.

Working closely with the Group Chief Integration Officer, Executive Team, Clinical Leaders and system partners, the post holder will lead the development of strategy, service transformation, quality improvement and strategic partnerships to improve patient outcomes and deliver integrated care across Lincolnshire.

The role requires an influential system leader who can drive organisational change, lead large-scale transformation programmes, and represent the Group at Board, system and regional levels.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to take responsibility for the full range of management responsibility for area of responsibility (e.g. recruitment, development, performance management, discipline etc).
- Able to initiate, develop, co-ordinate and implement business planning process on the behalf of the Chief Integration Officer and Executive Team
- Ability to set policy across the range of Group/Directorate activity and ensure successful implementation.
- Able to design seminars and complex presentations.
- Able to analyse and present complex information and data.
- Able to prepare and analyse complex reports and policies (business cases, reports, complaint responses, investigations etc).
- Ability to understand and interpret reports and data considering the impact on the Trust and/or Groups.
- Ability to co-ordinate activities to meet challenging performance targets within tight financial controls.
- Ability to manage the delivery of key performance targets within strict financial controls.
- Sound understanding of computerised financial and management information systems.
- Able to effectively manage budget for Group of responsibility (pay and non-pay) within Trust guidelines.

- Working knowledge of the wider NHS and Social Services (structures, accountability etc)

### Experience

**Essential**

- Extensive management experience at a senior level in the NHS with, responsibility for operational and or clinical service matters, including staff management, budgetary responsibility, performance targets, quality assurance and governance.
- Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Department of Health initiatives and assess/forecast the impact on the Group and respond accordingly.
- Experience in leadership, negotiation, empowerment and advocacy skills
- Understanding of external agencies that the NHS works closely with, for example, Social Services, Emergency Services, Voluntary Sector.
- A strong understanding of the complexities and pace of change in the NHS.
- Quality, audit and research knowledge, in relation to strategy and planning

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to Masters’ degree level or equivalent.
- Management qualification, MBA or equivalent.
- Additional in-depth professional knowledge in a number of disciplines, e.g. strategic management, financial management, performance management, information systems, staff management acquired through training and experience over extended period

**Desirable**

- ECDL or equivalent Microsoft Office training/ expertise
