### Job overview

The IT Department is responsible for delivering Information Technology to the Dudley  and Sandwell Group NHS Foundation Trust. In addition, IT is responsible for delivering revenue generating IT services to other NHS organisations and private enterprises involved in the delivery of Healthcare.

The Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be an experienced applications/systems support specialist providing expert advice and solution design skills to users along with the management of the Applications Support Specialists.

The SME will provide project leadership and 2nd Line applications support coordination.

The post holder will be a key member of the IT Systems team who currently provide on-going support with regards to new and existing clinical and non-clinical applications/systems across the Trust.

The IT Systems Team also undertake business analysis, design, development and implementation in regards to various internal development requests and 3rd party vendor solutions.

### Skills and experience

**Essential**

- Extensive experience in a senior application management role within a professional IT environment planning, installing, maintaining, and supporting business applications
- Application incident and problem management skills
- Excellent systems and business analysis skills
- Demonstratable experience of business change process analysis and design techniques
- Demonstratable experience of business process documentation techniques
- Understanding of Information Governance, Confidentiality and clinical safety aspects of application support
- Extensive experience of supporting NHS IT applications
- Demonstratable experience of specific healthcare/clinical related applications such as PAS (Patient Administration System), EPR (Electronic Patient Record), PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System)
- Has provided line-management and provide daily operational leadership to the Applications Support team

### Education and qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree in IT or business related subject and/or equivalent experience
- ITIL Foundation
- PRINCE 2 Foundation

**Desirable**

- Evidence of working across multiple trusts to extensively support applications
- Experience of supporting strategic planning and delivery
