This is an exciting opportunity to join Dudley Group NHS Charity in a newly created role during a period of growth. The Grants and Impact Manager will lead on securing significant grant income from trusts, foundations and statutory funders, managing relationships and delivering high‑quality funding applications, with a focus on six‑figure awards.

The postholder will also lead the development and delivery of the charity’s impact and evaluation framework, ensuring robust monitoring, reporting and evidence of impact across all funded projects. Working closely with colleagues across the Trust, the role will play a key part in developing new charity projects, strengthening funder relationships, and supporting the charity’s wider growth ambitions to enhance care for patients, staff and the local community.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of preparation and submission of complex, successful, funding applications, including large (£100k+) awards from trusts, foundations, or statutory funders.
- Experience of securing and managing small, medium, and large grants from trusts, foundations, or statutory funders via diverse approaches.
- Experience of managing or developing strategic relationships from identification all the way through to securing a gift or grant.
- Experience of analysing and reporting information/data.
- Significant experience or developing impact frameworks to record and report on impact of work against strategic objectives.

### Physical Skills

**Essential**

- Willing and able to travel independently across the communities and geographical areas that the Trust services, or for networking purposes.
- Ability to act as the sole representative of the charity in a range of stakeholder engagement settings, utilising impact, passion and integrity.
- Ability to manoeuvre fundraising materials/equipment on a regular basis

### Knowledge and Training

**Essential**

- Understanding of the importance of grant funding relationships in the charitable sector.
- Demonstrable evidence of successful trusts and foundation charity fundraising.
- Evidence of networking and relationship building in the fundraising sector.
- Knowledge of the UK Trusts and Foundations sector and trends.
- Understanding of a charity’s reserves policy and the requirements of funders.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of the local area and funding environment in West Midlands.
- Knowledge of NHS environment fundraising.

### Qualifications & Education

**Essential**

- Educated to degree / diploma level or equivalent experience in a related area (charity, grant giving)
- Excellent standard of English - written, spoken and grammar
- Continued professional development

**Desirable**

- Project management qualification
- Member of Institute of Fundraising or equivalent professional body

### Analytical & Judgement Skills

**Essential**

- Good numeracy skills and comfortable working with and reporting on data and budgets.
- Ability to analyse a wide range of information and statistics relating to impact and evaluation.
- Experience of working with databases (Harlequin at DGNHS).

### Planning & Organisational Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to plan complex charity projects, with an aptitude for organisational detail including developing comprehensive action and project plans for areas of responsibility.
- Ability to develop comprehensive funding proposals, with budgets, costings and timetables.
- Ability and confidence to work under own initiative / motivation and able to time-manage and prioritise workloads in busy and demanding circumstances with tight timescales.
- May be required to work evenings and weekends, as required.

**Desirable**

- Organisation of funder cultivation events.
