### Job summary

10 TPD sessions are being advertised to work on Differential Attainment (DA) across the East Midlands until March 2027. Sessions are being advertised internally and will be appointed as either 0.5 or 1 session posts.

The Differential Attainment (DA) GP TPDs will be responsible for the management, delivery and evaluation of the following workstreams, and we would particularly welcome applications from educators already working in these areas:

- AKT Saturdays

- AKT intensive course

- AKT 1:1s

- SCA Saturdays

- SCA 1:1s

Sessions are also available to support the structured learning programmes (SLPs) on an ad-hoc basis - mainly contributing to communication skills sessions +/- evaluations. TPDs would need to be available on a Monday or Tuesday for the SLP sessions.

There will also be an opportunity to work on other evolving DA workstreams.

Applicants should be experienced GP educators with a commitment to reducing differential attainment and supporting trainees from under-represented groups.

Availability requirements

- SLP contributions require availability on Mondays or Tuesdays
- The majority of work can be completed remotely
- Candidates must be willing and able to travel across the East Midlands region when required. In-person attendance may be needed for teaching sessions, away days, or collaborative working, and this expectation should be factored into your application

### Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work with other TPDs and ADs to provide:

Programme development and management

- Design, development and review of teaching resources in line with trainee feedback, curriculum updates, and emerging best practice.

- Ensure resources are adaptable for different stages of GP training and accessible for diverse trainee needs.

- Support for GP registrars based on feedback and educational outcomes.

Collaboration and Communication

- Liaise with residents, Educational Supervisors, programme managers, Training Programme Directors and APDs as required.

- Engage with regional NHSE teams.

Administration

- Maintain accurate records of teaching activities, attendance, and trainee progress.

- Contribute to logistical planning.

Evaluation

- Contribute to the design and delivery of evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of DA workstreams. Assist with data collection and analysis.

- Participate in faculty review processes to ensure quality and consistency across sessions.

- Embed inclusivity and accessibility into programme evaluation and development.

Please note role responsibilities are not limited to the areas listed above - as with all TPD roles, you may be asked to work flexibly to support wider GP training within the East Midlands.

### Qualifications and Training

**Essential**

- Registered Medical or Dental Practitioner with a current licence to practise or hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (or equivalent) in Public Health (for roles in School of Public Health).
- Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty or professional association relevant to the advertised role's Specialty.
- Applicants must be in current NHS clinical practice (or similar setting), or within 2 years of ceasing clinical practice, whilst in this post
- Applicants, regardless of professional background, must have a track record of professionalism in line with the principles set out in Good Medical Practice and compatible with appointment in a senior clinical educator role.
- Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development.
- Active involvement in, and up to date with, NHS appraisal processes.
- Applicants who are GPs are normally required to be on the National Performer's List (unless they are solely undertaking an educational management role).

**Desirable**

- Higher educational qualification such as a postgraduate certificate, diploma or Master's in education.
