### Job overview

The post holder will assist in the provision of GP Out of Hours overnight service administration support for the patients of Western Cheshire by supporting the clinical team in an administration capacity.

GPOOH are looking to recruit admin to support with overnight shift cover - 1 x 9.5 hour night shift per 4 weeks; overnight shifts are 22:00-08:00 with a 30 minute break - please contact Ellie Malam - ellie.malam1@nhs.net with any queries.

The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

### Main duties of the job

Clinical and Health Care

- To answer health professional phone line and add cases to SystmOne e.g. blood results, referrals from other health professionals or AVS calls.
- To support clinical, non clinical staff and Service Users by contributing to the smooth running of the service.
- Receive specimens from patients and record these on the audit trail to be taken to the lab.
- Chaperone as and when required.

Communication

- To act professionally as the first point of contact with service users and staff members using the service, whilst promoting good public relations.
- To liaise with other OOH providers to pass over patients outside of the Western Cheshire boundary area, in line with the cross border agreement or transfer of call details and communicate with staff in satellite bases to ensure the smooth running of the service.
- To attend staff meetings.
- To follow special notes procedures to add alerts to patient records; ensuring flow of communication between the service and other healthcare providers.
- To be responsible for handling telephone and face to face enquires, concerns or comments, answering telephone calls, taking messages and taking appropriate messages as necessary whilst mindful of confidentiality.
- To follow the Business Continuity Plan in the event of a service failure to ensure the continuous running of the service.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Understanding of medical terminology
- Administration role experience

**Desirable**

- Previous experience working within a clinical NHS setting

### Qualifications

- NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent or relevant experience

- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and understanding Data Protection Act
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload

- Self motivated and able to work on own initiative

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of using SystmOne, Adastra and/or EMIS
