We’re delighted that you are considering joining our team as a FT Senior Clinical Fellow (LAS) in Palliative Medicine. The service covers all aspects of Specialist Palliative Care (Specialist inpatient/hospice, community and hospital liaison work) provided by a multi-disciplinary team across the Swansea & Neath localities. The post is covering a vacant training post for 6 months only to commence on 5th August 2025 - 2ndFebruary 2026.

We would invite candidates from all medical, general practice and surgical backgrounds as we believe that all experience is valuable to Specialist Palliative Care. Previous Doctors in the department have gone on to higher training in Specialist Palliative Care.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to:

- Be a core member of the Specialist Palliative Care MDTs
- Be a core member of the relevant clinical service groups.
- Undertake all work in accordance with the Health Board’s procedures and operating policies;
- Participate in job appraisal and review.

To provide Palliative Medicine consultations as part of the Community Palliative care advisory team, under consultant supervision or as part of the Hospital Palliative care team under consultant supervision.

Provide middle grade non-residential on call cover in association with other colleagues to support health care professionals in any setting and 7/7 CNS working.

Have direct responsibility for patients in the specialist inpatient unit- Tŷ olwen (first on call) out of hours. On call is supported by hospital at night from Morriston after 10pm and remote/electronic prescribing.

### Qualifications:

**Essential**

- - MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- - Either of the following:  MRCP(UK) Part 1 at time of application and MRCP(UK) full diploma by offer date  Eligibility for the specialist register in general internal medicine by time of application  Completion of Irish Basic Specialty Training in medicine and the MRCPI full diploma by offer date
- - Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at the advertised post start date for the vacancy
- - Have evidence of achievement of Internal Medicine Stage 1 capabilities

**Desirable**

- - Full MRCP (UK) at the time of application
