Advert for a Frailty Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine .

We are seeking an enthusiastic and quality driven doctor to work with us at the Royal Free – Barnet Hospital. We are looking for colleagues with interests in quality improvement and digital innovation keen to support new and innovative ways of working based on population health. You will be supported by a first class Education Centre, with a wealth of teaching, training and management opportunities. We are a fantastic place to work and welcome applications.

If you are looking for further experience in Acute Medicine with the opportunity to develop your sub-specialty interests, then you would be well suited to this position. Clinical duties are at SpR level including participation in the medical on-call rota. This post will both increase your level of confidence and provide strong CV development. Our previous Senior Clinical Fellows have gone on to become very successful Specialist Registrars, progressing well towards becoming Consultants. Although these posts do not have Educational Approval from the Postgraduate Dean, study leave, study budget and core training with e-portfolio will be provided in the same way as for other Trainees at the same level.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to work in the Department of Medicine for the Elderly, working on an acute Geriatric ward, in TREAT our admissions avoidance service for the elderly and also participating in the all age, unselected acute medical on-call.

**Essential**

- Understands and abides by ethical principles and committed to the NHS
- Willing to take on responsibility.
- Good general health, physically able to carry out the duties of the post.

- Evidence of leading QI projects
- Publication or presentation of QI work
- QI Methodology Course

### Experience

**Essential**

- Completion of Foundation training programme, or equivalent
- 6 months experience in medicine
- Completion of Internal Medicine Training programme, or equivalent
- Evidence of working in multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of Geriatric medicine (minimum 6months) at registrar/senior clinical fellow level

**Desirable**

- Previous audit experience
- Previous publications
- Experience in frailty services
- Experience in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
- Experience of community, interface or Hospital@Home services
- Experience in palliative care (inpatient, outpatient, community or hospice)

### Skills & Aptitudes

**Essential**

- Awareness of principles of Risk Management
- Understanding of frailty and geriatric syndromes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

**Desirable**

- Good understanding of the forces and drivers of influencing change in the NHS
- Evidence of academic excellence e.g. BSc, prizes, distinctions etc
- Leadership experience
- Teaching skills and experience

### Education/Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registration with the General Medical Council
- MBBS or equivalent
- Valid ALS (Advanced Life Support Certificate UK)
- MRCP (PACES), or equivalent

**Desirable**

- ALS course
- RCP DGM (Diploma in Geriatric Medicine)
- Good Clinical Practice Certificate (NIHR)
