Fire Safety Advisor (12 Months Fixed Term)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health, Safety, Fire and Security team here at Great Western Hospital (GWH) as a Fire Safety Advisor. This is a significantly important role to support the safety of all patients, staff and others who use our buildings.

This is a part time post working for 15 hours primarily on the GWH site but it may require the post holder to work across the wider Group site (covering Bath and Salisbury sites) on occasion.

### Main duties of the job

The post–holder will provide fire risk assessments across a range of hospital buildings and healthcare premises. They will provide comprehensive fire safety advice and training to the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundations Trust, to ensure the organisation achieves compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Department of Health’s suite of Technical Memoranda ‘Firecode’, and all other fire safety guidance, standards, and regulations. This post will report to the Health, Safety, Fire and Security Team Manager.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in and providing fire safety advice within a large public sector organisation
- Delivering fire safety training with a minimum of three years experience
- Extensive experience in writing complex and structured reports and documents
- Experience in writing complex fire risk assessments for high risk buildings

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent
- Level 5 certificated fire risk assessors’ course
