This is a great time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the Interim Financial Accountant.

We are currently in the process of redeveloping the hospital to provide a new state-of-the-art hospital for the residents of Hillingdon, and beyond, which supports the very best in delivery of healthcare and will be fit for our future.

We have over 3,500 members of staff that are proud to care for nearly half a million people across the Borough of Hillingdon, with a vision to be an outstanding provider of healthcare - our mission is to provide high quality, safe and compassionate care, improving the health and wellbeing of the people we serve.

The successful candidate will:

- Assist in the completion of the Trust’s monthly and annual NHSE returns, ensuring that these represent a true and fair view and meet financial timescales and legal requirements, interpreting these where necessary.
- Support the Head of Financial Services and Financial Controller throughout the year-end process and rollout of new Oracle Fusion finance system.
- Be the lead on the Trust’s Balance Sheet ensuring control accounts are reconciled and reviewed promptly and liaising with other departments within Finance to understand and clear outstanding items
- Manage and provide effective leadership to cash management, VAT and Charitable Funds.
- Support staff development within the Financial Services team.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

**Essential**

- CCAB Professional Accountancy qualification
- Additional specialist knowledge on accounting for charitable funds and the associated legal requirements.
- ability to work autonomously and interpret organisational and occupational policies

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of using Oracle-based financial systems
- Expert knowledge of Financial Services, NHS & NHS Foundation Trust financial regimes, financial and non-financial aspects of NHS legislation
- A practical knowledge of NHS legislation & policies (e.g. DHSC GAM and ARM, and underpinning accounting policies) and legislative and accounting requirements
