We're looking for someone with a positive approach, strong analytical and communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Experience in management or financial accounting, knowledge of accountancy principles, and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential. Knowledge of NHS finance, management accounting, costing procedures, financial regulations and relevant legislation would be advantageous but is not essential.

Travel Locations

Both roles involve some travel, with one role covering Hertfordshire and the other covering South West London.

### Main duties of the job

- Support the delivery of high-quality financial management services across the Trust as part of the Financial Management team.
- Assist the Senior Finance Analyst and Finance Business Partner in providing timely financial advice and support to budget holders.
- Produce accurate financial reports and robust monitoring information to support effective decision-making and financial performance.
- Help directorates understand and manage their budgets, ensuring the Trust meets its financial responsibilities.
- Support budget setting, forecasting and financial planning activities, identifying risks and opportunities where appropriate.
- Analyse financial information and contribute to the preparation of reports that inform operational and strategic decisions.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues across clinical and corporate services, providing responsive financial guidance and support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the finance function by promoting accurate reporting, effective financial processes and best practice.
- Develop your technical knowledge and professional skills through study, mentoring and practical experience while supporting the team's objectives.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Demonstrated adaptability and a proactive willingness to learn new skills, systems, and processes, regardless of prior industry experience

**Desirable**

- Previous experience in a financial role or a related industry
- Preferably a minimum of a year’s experience in a management accounting function. Ie a placement year

### Skills and Knowledge

**Essential**

- High level numeracy skills, competent in processing and interpreting figures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to utilise them to communicate effectively within a co-operative multi-disciplinary and team based working environment.
- Ability to form, build, develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with people from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds
- Able to summarise and communicate complex finance information to non-finance personnel
- Able to draft, type, format, prepare and produce a wide range of high quality documentation, letters, emails, memos, statistical information, graphics, presentations and short reports.
- Excellent data analysis skills for interpretation and comparison of complex data from various sources.
- Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality issues regarding patients, staff and sensitive Trust matters

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of accountancy procedures and principles
- Knowledge of General Ledger/Reporting Systems
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and financial information and management system skills

### Education/Qualification

**Essential**

- Degree educated or equivalent
- Studying/Actively looking to study for a CCAB professional qualification
