We are looking for a Facilities Supervisor to join our dedicated team at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport supporting patient care across our sites. In this vital role, you’ll help ensure our environments are safe, clean, welcoming and well‑maintained—supporting clinical colleagues and contributing directly to excellent patient experience. There are 2 posts available with the following hours:- Post 1 - 20.5 hours to be worked 07:00 - 14:00, 06:30 - 14:00 and 06:30-15:00 over 3 shifts per week as part of a 4 week rota Post 2 - 25 hours to be worked 15:00 - 20:00, Monday to Friday ### Main duties of the job As a Facilities Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving standards across cleaning, ward catering, portering, security, receipt & distribution, and grounds services. You will: - Lead and motivate facilities teams to deliver high‑quality services. - Plan and adjust work schedules to meet service demands. - Carry out regular ward/department visits and liaise with clinical teams. - Monitor service quality, complete audits and take corrective action where needed. - Support staff through training, performance reviews and daily supervision. - Ensure compliance with Health Board policies, infection control standards, COSHH, Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislation. - Respond to day‑to‑day issues, reporting/escalating defects and service failures. - Assist with stock control, kitchen temperature monitoring, waste control, linen distribution and bed space cleaning coordination.
