We have a new opportunity for an exercise practitioner to join our multidisciplinary, Cardiac Rehabilitation team, supporting Cardiac Rehabilitation classes across York, Selby and South Hambleton and Ryedale Community Services.

We are seeking an experienced clinician with past experience of working within Cardiology speciality, to undertake a high standard of assessment, education and rehabilitation for patients within the service.

### Main duties of the job

To work in a static role, of therapy provision within the multidisciplinary Cardiac Rehabilitation service, contributing to a high standard of therapeutic rehabilitation within the Trust.

The successful candidate will be embedded within the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service, assessing, educating and supporting patients who have experienced a cardiac event, to engage in exercise interventions.

The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy. Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence (role will involve travel to numerous addresses that cannot be easily accessed by public transport means) is required.

## Person Specification

### Experience and Knowledge

**Essential**

- - Experience working with patients who have had a cardiac event or other long-term conditions, either voluntary or paid. Experience of working as part of a team.

**Desirable**

- - Awareness of NICE guidelines relevant to area of work.

### Qualifications and Training

**Essential**

- - Degree level qualification e.g. BSc Sports and Exercise Science (or equivalent).

**Desirable**

- - Up to date Specialist Exercise Instructor qualification
